Haven Books Closes…
In a closed meeting on February 4th 2010, SSMU’s Legislative Council decided to close Haven Books.
What does this mean?
As of February 12th 2010, Haven Books will not be accepting new consignments. Beyond that, the store will function normally, selling new and used textbooks, and issuing cheques. As of April, the store will be vacated, and students wishing to claim textbooks or request cheques may do so at SSMU?s main offices.
Future plans?
In September 2010, SSMU plans to create a forum where students can exchange their textbooks during the add / drop period. This will be hosted within the William Shatner University Centre.
Next steps?
Students are encouraged to reclaim their textbooks as soon as possible; textbooks will be available for pickup at the current store until the end of March and at the SSMU main office begining in April 2010.The SSMU apologizes for any inconveniences this may cause.
Finally, the SSMU would like to thank all students for supporting Haven Books.
